Macarella is one of the most celebrated coves on Menorca, about 14 kilometres from Ciutadella, between the Castellet de Macarella and the Punta de na Xulla, west of the cove of Santa Galdana. The beach is 140 metres long and is considered one of the most beautiful on the island.
It is an unspoilt, secluded, U-shaped cove with high cliffs covered in pine woods; a stretch of the Camí de Cavalls runs behind it. It is divided in two: the main beach and its neighbour, Macarelleta, and the Macarella lagoon is nearby.
It has showers, toilets, bins and a water-sports area. It is best to arrive early to enjoy it in peace.
