Arribes del Duero is a protected natural area, with the status of natural park (since 11 April 2002), Special Protection Area for Birds, Special Area of Conservation and transboundary biosphere reserve (UNESCO, 9 June 2015), in the northwest of Salamanca and southwest of Zamora, beside the Portuguese border. The Spanish side covers 106,105 hectares and the Portuguese side 85,150, 191,255 in total; in Spain it spans 24 municipalities in Salamanca and 13 in Zamora.

The Duero is cut into granite. The almez grove of Mieza, of more than 250 hectares, stands out. About 200 bird species, at least 45 mammals, 16 fish, 11 amphibians and 17 reptiles are recorded.

You reach Fermoselle by the CL-527 from Zamora, and Sobradillo by the CL-517 from Salamanca. Deep canyons above the Duero and viewpoints over the void.
