The river Urederra rises in the Urbasa-Andía Natural Park, in the Sierra de Urbasa, in the area of Baquedano. It runs 19 kilometres, with a basin of 119 km², before flowing into the Ega, in Estella, and receives water from the Améscoa Alta.
Its spring wells out of a limestone wall of the Urbasa karst massif, among beech trees. It has been a nature reserve since 1987 and is part of the Ega-Urederra Site of Community Importance, in the Natura 2000 network.
The trail leaves from a car park in Baquedano (NA-7187, km 13.8), with 6 km there and back. The entry booking is compulsory and free, and according to the source the last 300 metres have been closed since April 2019, so it is wise to check before you go. Its spring is one of the most photogenic corners of Navarre.
