Tejera Negra is a beech forest in the municipality of Cantalojas, in northwest Guadalajara, in the Sierra de Ayllón. It is one of the southernmost beech forests in Europe. It was declared a Natural Site of National Interest in 1974 and a natural park in the late 1970s, and since 22 March 2011 it has been part of the Sierra Norte de Guadalajara Natural Park.
The area covers 1,641 hectares, of which the beech forest covers about 400. There are beech, Pyrenean oak, Scots pine, yew, holly and birch, and roe deer, which are abundant, golden eagle, red kite, goshawk, Iberian wolf and wild boar live here.
Spectacular in autumn, when the forest turns ochre and reddish.
