The Neila Glacial Lakes are a group of lakes formed in stepped glacial cirques, on the north slope of La Campiña (2,049 m), surrounded by peaks of about 2,000 metres, south of the Sierra de la Demanda, in the southeast of the province of Burgos. The natural park, of 6,290 hectares, coincides with the municipality of Neila and was created by Law 12/2008 of 9 December.

The lakes are the Larga, the Negra (at about 1,900 m), the Cascada (1,690 m), the Corta, the Patos, the Brava, the Pardillas, the Oruga and the Muñalba; Muñalba peak reaches 2,073 metres. There are Scots pine, beech and Pyrenean oak, with a floating peat bog in the Laguna Larga. 124 bird species, 54 mammals and 13 reptiles are recorded.

Between 1969 and 1972 the area was transformed for tourism, and in 2001-2002 it was renaturalised. You reach it from Neila or from Quintanar de la Sierra. A quiet high-mountain spot, perfect for walking among lakes.
