Ifach Rock Natural Park is in the municipality of Calpe, in the province of Alicante. The rock rises 332 metres above the sea and was declared a natural park by the Valencian government on 19 January 1987, with 45 hectares that were extended to 53.3 on 2 April 2015.
Its rock-dwelling vegetation includes endemic plants such as the Ifach catchfly; on the north face grow dwarf fan palm and Phoenician juniper, and Aleppo pine appears on the deeper soils. It is a refuge for birds such as the European shag, the yellow-legged gull, the peregrine falcon and the pallid swift, up to about 80 species between breeding, migratory and wandering birds.
Access to the park is free and open while there is daylight. Since 2020 there has been a limit of 300 people a day on the path up to the summit, with prior booking on the park's official website: it is worth checking before you go, because conditions can change.
