Cabañeros National Park, in the provinces of Ciudad Real and Toledo, is, together with the Tablas de Daimiel, one of the two national parks in Castilla-La Mancha. It has been a national park since 20 November 1995 (Law 33/1995), a natural park since 1988, and is in the Natura 2000 network as a Special Protection Area for Birds and a Special Area of Conservation. It covers 40,856 hectares.

Quartzite predominates and, to a lesser extent, slate, with Ordovician fossils more than 400 million years old. Four species of Quercus dominate the woodland and there are more than a thousand vascular plants and about 550 lichens. More than 200 pairs of black vulture breed here, and the Spanish imperial eagle is among its threatened species.

It belonged to the city of Toledo between the 13th and 19th centuries, and in the 1980s a firing range was opposed. There are visitor centres and routes on foot or by off-road vehicle. A kind of Mediterranean savannah with deer and vultures, in the Montes de Toledo.
