Cape Fisterra is a rocky granite peninsula on the Costa da Morte, on the Galician Atlantic coast, in the municipality of Fisterra. In Roman times it was believed to be the end of the known world; its name comes from the Latin 'finis terrae', the end of the earth.

Monte Facho (San Guillermo), 239 metres high, lies north of the cape. The lighthouse was built in 1853, with a 17-metre tower and a range of more than 30 nautical miles, and since 1888 it has had a fog horn for the winter fog.

From Santiago it is 90 km along the Camino de Santiago to here, and many pilgrims who reach Muxía continue for another day. A lighthouse, the Atlantic and one of the most mythical sunsets in Spain.
